ID Card Facilities

The ID Card Issuing Office serves active duty, retired and reserve members, including their eligible family members. Supporting documentation requirements and appointment scheduling can be viewed and made by visiting https://rapids-appointments.dmdc.osd.mil. Be advised, processing requests for ID Card services may be secured prior to 1600 to allow sufficient processing time. Walk-ins are welcome, however, due to volume of customers you may experience lengthy wait times. There are three locations at Naval Station Norfolk. Other locations are also available in the Hampton Roads area.

The Navy Passenger Transportation Office (NAVPTO) Norfolk VA is a regional, full service passenger transportation office that provides passenger transportation support services for all Navy commands/activities, including ships and deployable units within our assigned region. NAVPTO Norfolk is responsible for arranging international and transoceanic passenger transportation directly with the colocated Commercial Travel Office (CTO), CWT SATO Travel. NAVPTO Norfolk handles transportation arrangements for active duty military members and DOD Civilians and their family members traveling INCONUS and OUTCONUS on official funded travel. This includes the processing of Passenger Reservation Requests (PRRs), confirming Air Mobility Command (AMC) flights, as well as arranging commercial air transportation and processing passport/visa applications for nofee passports. This office also reconciles 57 Centrally Billed Accounts (CBAs) for payment for this region as well as for NAVPTO Pensacola, NAVPTO San Diego, NAVPTO New Orleans and NAVPTO Guam.
